Is Premiere necessary for NeatVideo?
I have been using Premiere Pro for years now and one common workflow for me is to get MKV files, and have to run them thru Premiere Pro with NeatVideo to clean them up. Of course Premiere can’t open MKV natively so have to convert them to MP4 or AVI. Could convert the MKV with ffmpeg, or AVISynth script in VirtualDub.
The second option had me thinking. If for a particular workflow all I need to do is run an MKV file thru NeatVideo is there any advantage to converting the file and running it thru Premiere as opposed to an AVISynth script that natively loads the MKV file and then load that in VirtualDub and use NeatVideo there.
Figured the AVISynth process would eliminate a conversion.
Note: I use lossless or uncompressed for all my interim file formats before the final output.
Thoughts?
