  • Is my Raid dying?

    2008 Mac 8-core, 10GB, Ram Kona LH, FCP 7.03
I have 2 4TB Lacie “4 big Quadra’s” raided together in a Raid 50 configuration. This morning I tried to edit a multiclip using 2 DV files coming off the Raid, and it would play for 5 seconds and quit due to dropped frames. Ran AJA system test and it reported a 136MB drive speed with some spikes (3 or 4 over a 4GB file)
I also ran Disk Warrior and it said the directory structure was fine. I copied the files to an 1.5TB internal drive (no raid) and the multiclip ran fine as you would expect. Also trashed preferences and repaired permissions on the system drive. Any ideas?

Transfered footage back to the Raid and it works fine. So I am assuming “file corruption” of some sort.
The problem appears to be solved.

    8TB Raid, Raid 50 effective capacity 5.5TB, 1.92TB available.
    I should be good there.
