is my graphics card dying
i am having strange graphics performance. i have a 2.0 (2) g5 with the nvidia 5200 or whatever graphics card, not the best i know, but i am getting wierd banding in my FCP viewer window (but not in my video monitor), expose is not acting as it should, the tiles appear, but no text as i mouse over them and i can select windows from the tiles. i have been running this computer to death, rendering and using basically all the time, with sometimes it going to screen saver instead of off or sleep. is this something that happens. even with just a few apps open, and it seems to be getting worse. i use cocktail to clear caches, repair permissions etc. not sure what else is up. there is tech tool pro at work, would that be able to see if the graphics card can walk a straight line…
