I just built a serious editing computer:
    mobo: gigabyte X79 UD3,
    CPU: i7 9730L (overclocked to 4.2Ghz)
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX670 OC edition
    RAM: 32GB RAM @1600 Mhz
    OS/apps Drive: Samsung 840 Pro (OS/Apps)
Media Drive: 3x2TB RAID0 array (media files)- performing at over 400Mb/s R/W
    Geekbench Score: 20,000+

I just wanted to make sure that my system is operating at it’s fullest. The activity monitor is a bit confusing for me. I have attached full screen shots of CPU, RAM, disk activity, but below is an example of why I am confused (example is based on the CPU within activity monitor ‘while editing scenario’):

CPU: 170%, 133 threads, 4.43 GB real memory BUT CPU is 82.23% ideal.

Can someone please explain to me why 100% of my CPU is not being used? I should not have any disk speed bottlenecks as my RAID0 drive performs 400+R/W. I figured that this computer would be able to edit magic bullet looks in real time (it’s close but there is some stutter) but it can’t and my question is, if this can’t then what computer can?

Would be great to check out other peoples specs and hear their experiences

Here are all the activity monitor and blackmagic screenshots:

    Macbook Pro Retina: 2.6GHZ i7, 16GB RAM 1600MHz DDR3, GT 650M 1GB RAM

    Hackintosh (Sandy Bridge): i5 2500, 16GB 1333MHz DDR3, Nvidia GT640 2GB RAM

    OWC 4TB RAID0 (using esata)
    Tempo SATA Pro ExpressCard/34 (6Gb/s)
