Is Mac Pro standard sufficent for DeckLink HD Extreme
Posted by Margus Voll on April 23, 2007 at 8:16 amHi.
I wonder if Mac Pro with NV7300GT graphics card is suffisent for
HD Extreme. Specially NV7300GT instead of NVIDIA Quadro FX.—

April 23, 2007 at 6:43 pmThat’s the setup I have and it works fine. For the most part, I work in 8bit uncompressed SD using an internal RAID for media storage.

Yes the Mac Pro with the nVIDIA 7300GT works perfectly with the DeckLink HD Extreme. The nVIDIA Quadro FX should be considered if you are going to work with the new Color application in Final Cut Studio 2 as Color can be sluggish with the 7300GT. The Quadro FX makes a huge difference with the Color app but for most other purposes the 7300GT will be fine.

Yes, a three-disk array is plenty fast enough for any of the compressed codecs.
