Have anybody tryed the upgrade – 6.5.1 for After Effects?
    Is it safe to upgrade?”

It’s not just safe, it’s essential. It really fixes several bugs of the original 6.5 release, though the RAM preview bug isn’t among them.

There’s a bug that will not allow you to do previews even if you purge all RAM. It’s sporadic and seems to be related to specific situations (plugins used, comp sizes and that sort of thing), but it’s there.

I have, but only on rare occasions since we still mostly work in standard PAL and only rarely do higher res projects. Seems to be more critical for people doing HD more often.
