Let’s say I have a 3 sec. animation. The client says I love it but make it 6 seconds, but at the same speed. In my former discreet (now autodesk) world, I would be able to select the last keyframe and make it “continuous” – meaning that it would just continue the movement past the last keyframe at the current velocity. AE’s continuous doesn’t do the same thing. Is there a way in AE to make a keyframe act that “discreet” way (not having to physically move the keyframe and then making the adjustments so the velocity is now the same as it was)?

Does anyone understand what I am trying to achieve?

If it’s a true animation (and not footage) it sounds to me like you’d have to move the keyframe down and tweek the velocity as you put it.

the other guru’s may have a better way of doing it.

for the sake of this example – let’s say it’s just a still that I’m putting a move in on.

Your description sounds vague, but I guess you are refering to beyond-last-key extrapolation. This is done using expressions in AE, in your case loopOut(“continue”) should do the trick.
