  • Is it possible to share a FCP project with Corel Video Editor?

Posted by Francisca Rigaud on May 29, 2023 at 3:38 pm

I have a project half finished in FCP, which a friend would like to finish but, can I save the storylines somehow and share with him or share the whole project? I hope that there is a way around me sending him all the footage, as I had already cut a lot of bits that didn’t want to use and this way it will be far less confusing for him than to receive the whole thing. He lives across the ocean, so I won’t be able to guide him through the big amounts of footage. Thanks!

No really. If Corel can read an XML from Premiere Pro, you can export an XML from FCPX and use X2Pro to convert the XML to something they can read. But it’s also a $149 app.

render your timeline out in the full codec of that timeline.

Send him that file with some of the other footage you want to give to the new editor.

If there are completed segments – output those sepatatley so the editor

has some sections to start with.
