  • Is it possible to render multiple reflections on different layers?

    Hi there,

I’ve got a model of a shiny black iPhone. I’ve got several objects reflected on it and would like to be able to control the reflections separately in After Effects. Is there a way to do this?

No way that I can think of.

maybe separate renders for each of the reflected objects (one at a time) using a Reflection MultiPass?

To properly account for obscuration I believe you’d also want to apply a compositing tag with matte object enabled and set to black on the object you don’t want appearing in the reflection.

I really wish Cinema had render layers.
