March 28, 2006 at 1:44 amHave you got the “+” ?
When you render, in the Render Queue, click on the blue
“codec” next to “Output Module” (Lossless is the default on my machine). This opens the “Output Module Settings” dialogue box.
Now next to the Format Options button a quarter way down the page, there is:
Channels:
Depth:
Color:To get Transparency (Alpha) you need to select:
Channels: RGB + Alpha
and the Depth changes to:
Depth: Millions of Colors+Without the “+” there is no Alpha, no transparency, some codecs don’t support Alpha, some do. That’s why some folks suggested QuickTime Animation, (select – QuickTime Movie from that top dropdown… Format.
then click on “Format Options” opening the “Compression Settings” dialogue box, and select “Animation”.Some like PNG, targa, and others for transparency, but no +, no transparency.

March 31, 2010 at 5:12 pmOkay, I’ve followed these instructions to the letter for an animated logo I created for a friend of mine. She e-mailed me, explaining that at when she brought it into Premiere on her system, the background first came in white, then black. Advice, anyone?

March 28, 2013 at 5:54 pmI’m sure you’re beyond this project, but for the record, also check to make sure the importing machine is set to interpret an alpha channel for the incoming footage.
