Is it possible to DUB into a capture – Intensity Pro – Live Commentary over capture
Hi There, I’ve recently built a brand new video editing system.
System specs are:
CPU: i7-2600k – OC @ 4.7 GHZ
Mb: Asus P8Z68-V Pro / Gen3
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
Video: MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 680
Capture: Black Magic Intensity Pro
PSU: Corsair HX750
SSD: Crucial M4 128gb
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB – 6.0GB/s
Optical: Asus Blu-Ray Reader
Monitor: Asus VH236H
Mouse: Logitech G9X Pro
KB: Ducky Shinning Cherry MX Blue’s / backlit
OS: Win7 Pro x64
Microphone: Plantronics Headset.
Mixer: Behringer Xenyx 802 + Shure SM58My Question:
Is it possible to Capture video from within Adobe Premier Pro CS6 from my Black Magic Intensity Pro while dubbing commentary over that capture with my standard analog microphone Headset – working AROUND the mixer. I can get Mixer/SM58 commentary patched into the BMIP analog audio input just fine but my friend doesn’t have a mixer so we’re trying to find a work around for this.I’ve tried recording an audio track simultaneously to the capture but its just too hard to sync up the audio / video afterwards. We’re trying to do video game commentary for YouTube.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Currently, I’m playing with Windows Sound control panel to try and get the headset mic patched into the BMIP speaker output. No luck after much testing yesterday.
I can record audio just fine and I can record the Game capture just fine, I just cant record both of them into the capture feature of Premier Pro. Let me know if you need any further setup info from me.

I’m confused… if you’re capturing into one system then why isn’t your friend plugging into the mixer if you know that patches in successfully?
I assume you’re using the mixer to take your mic as well as the RCA left/right input from your console, then you feed it to the Intensity Pro.
Am I missing something here?

Yeah, my friend doesn’t have a mixer yet so he can’t pipe a microphone directly into the Intensity Pro as he just has a USB PC Mic. I basically decided that he’s either going to have to do the commentary in post production for now or throw down cash for a mixer + mic.
I think I can consider this topic closed, just wanted to see if anyone had any tricks up their sleeve.
