I was noticing that you could save for web in Illustrator CS2, but once I save the components through the saved layers, it doesn’t save them as the layer names, instead it saves them by the project name + a number. I was wondering if there is an easy way to design and implement that design into HTML or PHP or whatever else I might use?

Well with Illustrator looks like you will have to go with the auto slice names Illustrator assigns. I checked the attributes palette, and help and nothing for naming slices there. You could do a search and find in dreamweaver on the code if you woudl like to rename your slices.

Is it possible to on your project to use the slice names Illustrator assigns. The is usually good and a lot easier than trying to handcode tables with sliced graphics. Noone should really see your slice names, and you can assign alt tags to the image in a GUI like dreamweaver.

You can set the file names through the custom settings when you are ready to save out of Save for web….
