    Is it possible to cut a FCP 5.0 or higher project in 4.5?

    May seem like a stupid question. I had to ask. Couldnt find anything on the internet, but was wondering if it were possible. Everytime I go to open the project I get an error message that says the file is too new for my version of FCP.

    Are there any work arounds?

    Export an XML file of your whole v5 project and open the XML file in 4.5.

    So thanks for all of your help guys. I exported the XML file from FCP 5.1.1, imported it into my FCP 4.5 its all there but all of the media is offline. I go to reconnect the media and it says the file doesnt have enough audio tracks to reconnect.

    I have read this can be a problem because of the way FCP 5.0 handles audio. Are there any work arounds?
