i shall continue various combinations and hope for the best. if i figure it out, i’ll post it. sheesh.

September 15, 2006 at 6:16 pmhave you tried other drives? If the clips copies to whatever drive it’s on, then it seems to me to be some sort of permissions error on whatever you are copying to.

September 16, 2006 at 4:09 amthanks jeremy — i tried that too, other files copy no problem. it appears to be this one clip. maybe there’s some corruption somewhere, but then why would it play OK in FCP?
i’m going to readdress after this weekend.

Open your file with QT. Open a new window. Copy and paste your file in the new window, and try to save it as autocontained in the other disk. May work.
Yours is very curios problem. Thats normally happens when disks are full or too fragmented. If the file would be corrupted I think you couldn’t make any coppy. And if in the end is corrupted, try FileJuicer. Works grate.

September 18, 2006 at 5:24 pmthat’s a good idea… but it still crashes? i tried it twice. i’m baffled. i have one idea left, i’m gonna try it, but i’m a little embarrassed as to say what it is. if it works, i’ll post back.
