is it possible to capture hdv 1080i footage shot on a sony camcorder on JVC mini dv tape?
Hello
I shot hdv 1080i footage on a sony camcorder on a JVC mini dv tape.
Now i am having problems capturing the footage. The first 10 minutes were fine but now everything is just blue. I have read that JVC hdv camcorders do not support 1080i but as I shot on a sony camera is it possible to capture the footage from the jvc tape? and how can I do this?which device should i use?Thank you

Hello Adriana,
I hope that you already found a solution to your problem, but I can confirm that you can use a JVC DV Tape into a Sony HDV camcorder. The problem may be the same of recording HDV over Sony Mini DV tapes; Sony, JVC, Panasonic, etc., produced dedicated tapes for HDV, because that format uses a Long GOP file that is much more sensible to drops than the DV, that uses an Intra frame recording.Are you reading the tape with the same camcorder you used to record?
