  • Is it normal Fractal Noise don’t work on 16bpc ?

Posted by Foucault Martial on February 9, 2008 at 1:31 pm

    Hi to all,

Why when I try to change the “Fractal Type” to “Turbulent (Smooth, Basic or Sharp)” on a 16bpc or 32bpc composition the layer become plein white.
If I change the coposition to 8bpc the Fractal Noise whith this Fractal Type is shown.

The Turbulence Type is the only whose done this.

The result, a beautiful visible Banding.

    Any solution ?
    Thanks a lot

Have you tried lowering the brightness value of the Fractal Noise after you change the Fractal Type? Different fractal types will be either lighter or darker even with the same Contrast/Brightness settings, so you usually need to change these if you change the type.
