Is Fusion an updated Shake?
I was never a big Shake user so not in a position to judge, but having started learning Fusion, which is great btw, it seems to have a great deal in common with Shake. Not just being node based, but many of the tools. Is Shake part of Fusion’s past?

Nope, two completely different design and development teams. Although, I believe they both appeared around the same time… 96 or 97, I think?
