  • is frame change possible after a project has started?

Posted by Ben Doherty on February 28, 2009 at 12:11 pm

OK, i’ve been a mega noob and i’ve done all my editing, assuming that the reason that the sides were cropped off my footage was becasue the preview was zoomed in too far.
I now see that it was becasue my frame was too small for my footage. fool!

so no my challenge is to find a way of changing the size of my frame. i’ve tried numerous things, but to no avail, even exporting as an AAF, importign the project file back into a fresh file, etc.

    does anyone have a fix?

    thanks

What is the resolution of your stills? What is your target audience…web, dvd, local playback?

The footage was from a screen capture, on a reduced area of the screen, so it was something like 1100×600. It was for local playback, so that the screen text was visible.

The best I could get out of it is now here, taking advantage of the fact that one can download the full resolution file once logged in. – https://vimeo.com/3408974

It’s especially galling as the capture file is absolutly crystal clear, image and sound, and is only 25mb, but the best i could do (using the techsmith codec) was 150mb, and it looked like a toddler had been left alone with a pack of highlighter pens.

but that’s off the topic of the initial question i suppose. Is it possible to change the frame size once a project has started?

In CS4 make a new sequence, copy from old sequence and drop it into the new.
Other versions you will have to make a new project with the settings set in the editing mode/desktop. Import older project into new one.
