is DVD Architect 3 a pain?
Posted by Tim Hawkins on May 23, 2005 at 8:48 pmI have Vegas 5 and DVD Architect 2. I find Arhcitect kind of hard to use. Am I the only one who feels this way? Is DVD Architect 3 any easier? I’m thinking about using something else but I sure like being able to import the marker file into the DVD automatically. I also don’t like having to pay for a $200 upgrade every year.

May 23, 2005 at 10:03 pmI couldn’t do my professional authoring with DVDA until version 3. Version 3 brings it to a whole new level.
If you are not happy with DVDA2, then perhaps you might try something else and see if it is a better fit. Yes — there are things I’d like to see changed/improved in DVDA, but I think you should take a close look at 3. I think the upgrade price is very reasonable. I personally think Vegas and DVDA should cost quite a bit more. They are worth it. So my advice is include DVDA3 in your comparisons of other softwares. For me, it was an easy choice. You can download the new version 3 and give a spin for 30 days. If you like it enough, you can purchase it.

May 24, 2005 at 6:05 amI’m new to DVDA period, and have just started using DVDA3. Is there anyplace I can find some tutorials/tips/hints/ticks? I’d like to learn to create really motion heavy menus, etc, and would love some guidance. Thanks!

May 24, 2005 at 2:31 pmIt does require some concentration and patience to understand DVDA2, but the more I know the more I love it, and I look forward to upgrading to DVDA3.
Good luck,

Go to the following link and you will find a streaming video feed that was shot at NAB giving you a rundown on Vegas 6 and DVDA 3.
To view it you will have to register on the site just like when you first logged in here. It might give you some pointers and shortcut the learing curve. Seriously though if you give DVDA a couple of good goes the ability to do things will come pretty quickly. As T.D. said up until now DVDA 2 was okay but 3.0 goes a long way past it. The stream video will show you the differences.
