Is Catalina an OS horror show for anyone else?
Just got my new Mac pro. It’s glorious. I’m coming from a 3.46ghz 12 core 2009 Mac pro running Mojave. I never had any big OS issues, which was amazing since I had no boot screen on my computer because of several different non official gpus, I mean no hanging on start for 5ish years maybe. Catalina on my new mac pro, I’ve had hang on boot up countless times the past 5 days (everytime I do boot camp, windows starts without issue, when going back to Catalina, I have to go to recovery mode and manually choose my Mac startup drive every time, otherwise using the alt key and choosing my Mac boot drive that way, the boot process freezes and restarts everytime into an endless loop). I’ve reinstalled the os 3 times now. This past time was when I installed the update released last night hoping it’d solve some of these issues. It sat for 30 minutes, looked like it was finishing and then said the os needed to be reinstalled. Is this normal? Is it boot camp fing everything up? Otherwise while editing, it’s been very fast and stable in Premiere. Specs:
