Is Big Endian the Bane of My Existence?
So, I have to do multiple compressions every day, and I’ve recently discovered that it’s taking a lot longer on my computer than on others. The only difference between the computers is that mine is a PPC, and the others are Intel, which I don’t feel fully accounts for it taking 5-6 times as long to convert something.
However, I’ve also noticed that some files convert faster than others. The only difference between them (that I can tell) is that the slow ones are Big Endian, and the fast ones are Little Endian, which compress almost twice as quickly. Could this be it? Is there some way to find other differences between the files? And, if the Endian thing is the problem, is there any way to export from FCP in Little Endian?
Thanks!
