Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Is a capture and playback device a passthrough or a pitstop?

[Frank Black] “You mean if I hook up an I/O device to a PC w/ Vegas, Vegas will capture through the I/O without playback?”

I don’t believe said IO Device. I said CAMERA. Vegas has the ability (through the Device Explorer or XDCAM Explorer) to copy files directly from a CAMERA and reassemble the 2GB fragments into the original video file with no playback.

Anything that goes through an IO Device will require a video/audio feed via live or playback into the device. Sorry if I confused you.

No we’re cool; thanks for the clarification. I was beginning to think that there is more than one way. Thx for the clarification. Happy new year John.
