    is 6db gain on dvx100b “clean”?

    i have a shoot coming up where the speaker will be in a living room setting.

    the client has been asked to me to use a minimal amount of lighting instruments.

    i have some ideas how to shoot this with my dvx100b.

    (small chimera 650 + lowel pro + inkie all bounced to ceiling)

    the footage is going to the web so the dvx100b is the “fastest” 1/3chip camera available to me.

    but just in case i need more light, is 6db gain on dvx100b “clean”?

    thanks in advance to those in the know.

    be well

    That’s totally subjective- personally I avoid gain at all costs. But if you have to use it, it’s kind of your call how ‘clean’ it really is.

    You rise gain as the last resource;
    If you think that you may need more light and you can get more light, do it.
