    Hi there

Basically Ive started to render some stuff out at Loseless quality however the main problem Im having is that after a couple of minutes it reaches around 58% of 1023mb used and takes alot longer than was previously estimated. If it initally says 30mins to render it will take about 3 hours in the end…is this usual and if not, is there anything I can do?

    Thanks in advance!

Search the COW using “secret” or “schecret” as a search term. Try the archives as well.

“initally says 30mins to render it will take about 3 hours in the end”
60% is about right and the estimated render time is supposed to update based on the difficulty of the frame that’s rendering at the moment…so if your comp starts with a simple dissolve and progresses into more complex FX, the dissolve will render quickly, but rendering of the overall comp will slow down and/or speed up depending on the relative difficulty of the frames that follow.

    – try closing all other application running other than AE, that includes your task bar applications too.
    – Currently your default Ram setting is 60%, Go to edit…then preference, and increase the ram percentage to 80-90%.(Don’t use 100%, you need some to run the application.)
