    Hi,

I’m looking for a way to make a Iris Heart Transition in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. I have Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop as well if those are needed but I haven’t been able to make one. OR if someone knows how to get one for free, I’d really appreciate it.

Well, this is the way I do it in Premiere… it’s free.

First, you’ll need the file I attached, or create your own in Photoshop.

    For the setup:

1- Put the heart shape file on your top layer.

2- Put the clip you want to “transition to” below that

3- Put the clip you want to transition “from” below both of them.

4- Apply the “Track Matte Key” to the clip your are transitioning to

5- In the effects settings, set Matte to the heart shape layer (top layer), and set the composite to Matte Luma.

Now all you have to so and animate to scale of the heart shape layer to create the transition.

You could create a few hearts of different shape in Photoshop to make things more interesting.
