Im using a 500 gig Iomega external hard drive (Firewire 800) for my capture scratch.
Im wondering if I “always” need to eject external drive before powering down my system.

After saving and closing final cut pro, can I just power down my powerbook without ejecting the external drive ???? And then just powerup powerbook when Im ready to edit again?

Im hearing different people telling me different answers for this question. some say its ok and that the drive will power down with my computer, others say no, you ALWAYS have to eject first.

    Appreciate any help
    thanks

I’ve never ejected my disks on shutdown. No problems ever.
