  • IoLA and Kona 2 for no offset editing?

I thought I read somewhere that if you have an IO and a Kona 2 you can set FCP to use the Kona 2 to get around the firewire frame offset delay that the IO has, even with SD video through the IO. Is this possible? I have a new Kona 2 coming today and I’ve always had to switch to Desktop Cinema mode for audio editing with the IO.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks-

I just checked my settings and I have frame offset set to 0 but when I use JKL to start stop playback I’m seeing about a 3 frame drift after I stop playback. Is this just an FCP issue?

you should not be at a 0 —frame offset the current offset for the current Io drivers is -3
this frame delay is a function of FCP to allow for differences in cable length or router issues. it is not carved in stone.
your results may vary ( or need to be modified)
