  Io4k – audio playback problems – bad compression

  Has anyone had any issues with using the headphone output on the front of the Io4k for audio monitoring where music sounds like its been mastered within an inch of its life? I.E: when it gets pushed to hard and you get pulsing of instruments coming in and out as their headroom gets swallowed up?

  I’ve listened to the same track in PremierePro just through my Mac Pro’s audio output and the same headphones and sounds fine.

  It’s like the Io is ‘legalising’ the audio it pushes through it. I can’t see anything obvious in the configs to remedy it.

  Any ideas guys?
