IO XT fan noise
Hi,
I have an IO XT and I use it for editing with Avid and Final Cut.
After a while the XT starts spinning up it’s fans and they don’t slow down until I turn off the iMac.
When I start editing again it will spin up again after a while.
The first XT I had got extremely loud and I changed it for another XT.
This one is not that loud but it is still very distracting.
Is this normal or do others have XTs that don’t spin up their fans all the time?Thanks,

Sounds normal. I hear the fan on mine. if it’s too distracting, move it further away. I think I have a drive with louder fans though, so I don’t notice it.

Too bad I liked the idea of having the XT sitting on top of the table.
The audio display gives that whole iMac edit suite a way more professional look. 😉Thanks,

OY! That gets loud when the bay gets hot.
Rule 1…keep the bay cool.
