    Hey,

I just set up my second IO system (macpro quad 3.0ghz) and when I pause playback in FCP the brightness jumps about 10 IRE (making the paused picture look brighter than when playing)making color correction very tough. I’m using the betacam US 8-bit settings, and coming directly from the IO component outputs into my Sony component monitor.

My whole studio is on the same black burst generator for ref. and the outputs of the monitor are terminatted with 75ohm teminators. When viewing the same footage on my 1st IO (original G5 dual 2.0ghz) system the IRE shift does not happen.

Has anyone encountered this yet? What would cause the shift? Is there something with the new drivers/firmware and the new macpro?

I hope that someone from AJA responds to this. I have not seen this – but I can assure you that NVidia has a control panel that can create this problem with their “overlay” in the AVID systems, if it is not set correctly. Now I know that the AJA I/O does not rely on the
AGP graphics card to display it’s video signal, but I don’t know what the Mac Pro might be doing – so I hope there is a response to this promptly.

I trashed the prefs, plist file, caches, and aja preset folder. Re-installed the 3.1 driver and re-booted and the problem is gone! Thanks for the help…
