IO firmware update
Hi there. Just to make sure I’m not missing anything.
My IO control panel quits immediately when fired up after installing FCP 5.1. Tried going with AJA Io v3.O with no difference.
I ran the 22-27 firmware installer for IO, but that made no difference either. Then reverted back to 21-26 to see if that changes anything which it did not.
The updater window states: current IO version 4-4 no matter which one I installed (I have cycled the power and restarted the Mac). Just checking that that refers to the IO model? and not the firmware (in which case it never got updated). Any advice?
Anyone having the same quitting issue?Francois

OK. Quit pain solved: An iSight plugged into the front FW port. Removing it solved the quitting. Still wondering about that 4-4 thing, though? In system profiler the sub units look as follows:
Io Unit:
Unit Software Version: 0x20
Unit Spec ID: 0xA27
Io Unit:
Unit Software Version: 0x22
Unit Spec ID: 0xA27
Io Unit:
Unit Software Version: 0x11
Unit Spec ID: 0xA27
Io Unit:
Unit Software Version: 0x24
Unit Spec ID: 0xA27Guess that implies the 22-27 version is in fact installed?

Just in case, i would uninstall and reinstall the drivers/control panel.

and remember – don’t plug ANYTHING ELSE EVER AGAIN into your firewire port. This means NO FIREWIRE 400 DRIVES while you are using the AJA I/O.
