io control panel
I want to use my IO box as a standalone converter feeding an SDI video card in my FCP edit station.
Can i – how do I remove the FCP – IO drivers and thus run the control panel and FCP concurrently ? -

Yes you can… with a catch. Untill we get the control panel, wire up your decks like you want (say Dbeta sdi to svid). Then load the “easy set up for the input that your using (sdi in this case). Open log and capture, and then unplug the firewire from the io. presto, the io will now convert all day long from sdi to any of the outs without using fcp. Just power cycle the io to get back to normal.
