    Hi,

If I use a Firewire800 drive on the Firewire800 port of the Powerbook, can I attach the Io to the Fire400 port and be able to capture 8bit uncompressed, assuming the Firewire800 drive can deliver the bandwidth ?

I’ve used a PCMCIA Firewire 800 card for the drives. I used 2 striped together and had no problem.

Do a search in this forum’s archive. There are lots (and lots) of posts about it. The IO uses *all* the bandwidth of the FW400 port (or
enough of it to make it unusable for media drives on the FW800 port. And the FW400 and 800 are on the same buss! Get the FW800 cardbus card.
