I’m in the process of installing an IO in a JVC D9 suite and am having problems with digital audio.

The deck in question is a PAL D-750 without embedded audio. Everything else works fine apart from the EBU return to the deck.

Is anyone else out there using separate AES/EBU audio with their SDI feeds to D9 and experiencing any trouble?

    Thank you

    Sorry, should have posted:

    FCP4.5, QT6.something, IO drivers 1.3

I’ll assume that this doesn’t work then?

I have been using the D9 with the Io for a few years now with no problems. The deck would not pass the audio to the Blackmagic Decklink but the IO works fine. You need the SDI board to do it.

    Thanks

I do have the SDI board fitted but unfortunately it doesn’t support embedded audio, just separate AES/EBU. The IO EBU output is fine when fed to a Sony pro audio unit, but the JVC deck just wont see it.

I remember a few years ago when I connected an early Fast 601 to the D9 (its a D750 BTW) the same thing happened. It worked fine with Sony’s EBU on Digibeta but not with the D750 until Fast rewrote the drivers.

I assume the same thing’s happened here and that there is a slight difference between the JVC and Sony implimentation of the EBU spec.

I’ve recently loaded Tiger and FCP5 so will can try the latest AJA drivers now.
