Invisible Hand – Page Turning
Hi,
I want to film a book, and have it open up, and turn to a certain page – but you won’t see a hand opening the book and turning the page – as if it happened by itself (sort of magically).Any suggestions on how to do that?

do you mean like the old disney movies? you could use fishing line across both ends like a wand. super old school.

I thought about that. I might actually try that.
I saw some online videos where they did “animation” in Adobe after effects, but it’s a lot of work.

if your going to try it the mechanical way I might suggest you shoot closing the book and then running the shot in reverse. Closing the book allows you to take advantage of the natural effects of gravity plus you can frame the final “open book” look exactly as you want.
