Invisible Footage
I’m in the middle of a long training video where I often use a solid white jpg as a background for some slides. I use the jpg on its own video layer across the whole video. Today (halfway through my project) I noticed that half the time the jpg is invisible in my monitor and/or renders. Again, this has impacted PRE-RENDERED stuff too. I need to figure out what the heck is going on. There are no effects whatsoever being applied to the jpg. If i copy a segement and lay it as the topmost layer, it’s still invisible. Help me!! I’ve even has premier open the file in photoshop and it looks fine.
I’m using Premier Pro 2.0 on a 2.8 ghz dual core Dell with 2 gig of ram.

Try using a bitmap…also make sure “Optimized stills” is selected In Project Settings>Video rendering.

Thanks for the reply. I would be willing to try that… but I would like to see if there’s a solution out there that would not require me to replace that asset over 300 times, unless there’s some automated way to do that that I’m unaware of.

There is a well known problem with too many JPG files on the sequence. A bug is a bug even if you try to ignore it.
If you had created a white matte in Premiere Pro, your problem would likely have not manifested itself. But a jpg is just another still it has to keep track of and there is some sort of memory leakage associated with jpg files.
