Inverse selection? Need to create a layer out of leftovers.
Hello friends,
I’m struggling to cover the countries with grid and leave the sea without.
There’s 2 ways I could do this:
Apply “Grid” effect to every country separately. The grid will have to have a blend mode though and will not stay the color I’d like it to be.
Make sea area into a layer and rise it above the grid.I’m out of ideas. It makes sense (to me) to INVERSE select all countries and create a SEA layer like that, but I understand AE doesn’t have such functionality?

Select all your country layers, duplicate them, then precompose [link] them. Use the resulting precomp layer as an alpha track matte [link] for a solid with the Grid effect applied.
