I was shooting with a Canon C300 (MXF wrapper) onto a CF card and was unable to read the card, likely due to the last file not closing properly. In any case, the MXF files were recovered with Disk Warrior and, because the MXF file structure did not accompany the files, this messed with file metadata, so…

I used Handbrake to convert the files to ProRes. Okay, so far, so good…

However there are frames that show up with this odd color banding artifacts and I have no idea what causes them or how to (if possible) eliminate them. Looks like this: Thoughts?

    MacBook Pro Retina (mid 2012)
    Yosemite 10.10.2
    Handbrake 0.9.3
    Source codec: 50Mbps CBR (4:2:2) MPEG-2 422@PHL
    Destination codec: MP4 (ProRes)

Can you open the MXF clips in VLC and see if they show it there?
