    Hey folks,

I finally have decided to de-lurk and join up. I’m so glad there’s a SAN forum! We’re running a 750GB SAN via 2GB fibre channel with ATTO cards for our Final Cut Pro editing stations and classrooms — 30 of them, all under OS 9. Yeah — it works! But it’s not bulletproof.

In the next year we need to move to OS X (for FCP HD) but Atto isn’t making an OS X version of Accelware so I hope to solicit some advice and glean some nuggets of wisdom from what you’re all doing, especially anyone with ATTO FC cards; I’m only aware of a few options so far.

At any rate, let the SAN shine in. Glad to be here.

    Cheers,

We’re researching XSAN and SANmp for now. They seem to be the only cross-platform possibilities – important for us working in a Windows shop with Mac editors. No cecision was made yet. But those are the ones we’re looking at for now. We’re coming from ImageSAN, btw, which is also being updated to include cross platform support. However, their prices have gone up! I don’t get that from a marketing standpoint in this business.
