Introducing GPU-accelerated plug-ins
Hi,
I have developed GPU-accelerated versions of the FBmn Software White Balance and Exposure plug-ins.
So far my tests reveal impressive performance improvements, compared to what I get with my i7 950 / 8 GB (which is however a rather high-performance CPU architecture).
The main benefits I see as a user are:
– fluid preview, even when dozens of effects are applied to an event
– faster rendering, whatever the output format
– CPU is kept available for other tasks, including other effects, making them more fluid as wellBy the way, the CPU multitasking is still available and can benefit to other activities (other programs or other works in Vegas).
I have made tests on several platforms: different nVidia CUDA-enabled graphics cards, non-nVidia graphics cards. however the number of combinations I have tested are limited, and I would like to make sure that these new plug-ins are robust and fit with as much hardware configs as possible.
For that reason, I would like to propose the following:
1) please let me know what is your environment, by filling the following form on my web site: https://www.fbmn-software.com/phplist/?p=subscribe
and/or
2) please let me know if you would like to test these plug-ins and give your feedback. For that purpose, please drop me an email at contact_at_fbmn-software.com (email address transformed here for spam reasons).
Best regards, and thank you for your help,
Frederic—
