WOW, thank you for the fast response. I would like to make it about 10-15 seconds long, just enough to show that it is my DVD creation. I make a lot of custom DVD’s and plan to add this intro screen to all of them. I hadn

That’s pretty vague. I know what you’re talking about, though. I created a little animation that stamps my work as my own. Kind of like a “THX” or “Universal Studios” thingie.

But like I said, it doesn’t sound like you know what you want. Looking for ideas?

    * Your name in a shiny box, with a grid of dots panning by in the background (or some kind of generated background)

    * A distinctive logo with your name under it in small letters. Fade the logo and name in, zoom in on it slightly, fade it out.

Hmm, I’m out of ideas at this late hour. My intro is a mix of those two ideas. For the audio, I used an ambient synth droning hum… (I think it was synth strings on a low C note)… very dramatic, like a movie’s gonna start. Hope this helps.

I guess I was a little vague, sorry this is my first try at a “real” video editing program so I am quite the newbie. And yes, you know exactly what I am looking to create and you gave me a few starting ideas. I would love to be able to have an LA Lakers, and an Oakland Raiders logo moving around the screen with text in the center stamping my work, and the music you referred to would be ideal. Where do I go from here?

Eddie, You would need to post a better indication of what you expect this to look like, a creative brief would e nice! Example: text/titles, the type of work you are advertising and so forth.

Are you planing on adding video snippets to this animated intro? Like video footage moving across the screen multi layered picture in picture effect!

There really are just so many options when it comes to editing in VEGAS!

I am just basically looking to make a short mpeg title screen that I can attach to all of my DVD creations. With a basic background with text in the middle “DVD brought to you by Eddie” and somehow animate an LA Lakers logo bouncing around the screen, and do the same with a Oakland Raiders logo. I could then just add that to the start of all my future DVD’s. I just getting started doing ANY sort of video creation other that basic editing so I am being as descriptive as I can, I am not familiar with Sony Vegas or any other complicated video editing program so I am trying to figure out where to start. Thanks again for any help you guys can give.

Easiest thing to do is to drop some text into your layout, drop the two logos in on different tracks, and keyframe-animate them with the little Crop/Pan window. I’m pretty new at Vegas, but what you’re thinking of doing shouldn’t take long to do.
