  • Interview sound to low?

    Hi
having problems with an interview that was recorded a bit to low. It also appears the mic was’nt best placed either… When I normalize it in audition it feels a little to distant and lacks a good base feeling obviously? Is there anything I can do in audition?
    Thanks

    Just another idea..
To strengthen dialogie I usually run it through a multi-band compressor (VST), Noise Reduction Filter out the background with the sample profile captured directly from the clip, and maybe Amplitude/Dynamics Processing.

    In addition…
When you’re happy with the results, run a noise gate on it.
Increase volume by (for example) +2db but keep the limit
to -1db (just in case). -1db is television standard, -6db
    is film.

Whether it’s vocal or music, experimenting with the noise
gate can result in horrible-sounding clipping, so watch out
    for that.

    Darren.
