Hello everyone, I have a quick question regarding nice smooth slo-mo footage & CS4 (Windows Vista 64bit):

I have an HPX170 (great camera) and I’m toying with over & undercranking footage and I’ve noticed that when I shoot in 24PN mode at 60fps, I get great smooth slo-mo footage on a 24P Premiere Sequence. However, when I shoot 720p60 in the camera and interpret the footage to play back at 24fps in CS4 in the same sequence, I can see frame blending upon playback. Shouldn’t this technically produce the same results? I also tried importing the clip at its normal 60fps and just slowed it down using the ‘speed’ function in premiere but same problem.

Sometimes you want to have a clip play slo-mo but didn’t have the camera set up in ‘overcrank mode’ when shooting. I guess I just want it both ways…

    Thanks!

The trick is actually to disable frame blending for slow motion clips.
