I’m trying to work with some 16:9 PAL footage, edited in xpress pro exported with native dimensions into sorenson then to encore. It all looks as if its squished back to 4:3 when i go to “interpret footage” as it says to in the manual but its greyed out. I have tried to export it differently and encode directly in encore but still no luck. I am highlitghting it in the project window as it says but its not working for me… what am i missing?

Interpret footage is only enabled for a selected untranscoded AVI or image file.

You may be able to correct the aspect ratio of an MPEG file using an application such as ReStream. Check at videohelp.com for more info.
