Do you work with sound in your project?

    1. Next time, use auto-save. Then you can find the last useable version of the project and start from there again.
    2. When does the error occur?
    3. Can you start the project with Caps Lock on?
    4. Can you switch off plugins and layers to try to isolate the problem?
    5. As R303LX asked, are you suing audio? If MP3, use QT Player to convert the MP3 to AIFF or WAV before importing the audio. Don;t use MP3 in AE.
    6. Are you using highly compressed sources such as Sorenson or DivX?

Yes, there is sound…a quicktime movie….the pop-up occurs at random times…..do you think a re-install would help?

You didn’t answer all of my questions … 🙂

The 10.4.8 update screws up AE horribly. I put a warning thread about this on Monday. The good news is, it seems to be working OK on my system now. I removed some third-party quicktime components and that seemed to do the trick. Otherwise I might have been facing the horror of re-installing OSX 🙁
