interlacing progressive footage
Some time ago I asked if there is a plugin that interlaces progressive video. John Rofrano adviced me just to render the video in interlace. But it’s not so simple. I still have problems with technical checking in tv channel especially with slow camera moves. They are just not smooth because of 25p. Interlaced 50i (PAL) mode shoots 50 frames (half frames) per second so the motion looks good. These 50 frames are half frames but each is shot in different time. Is there any way to add additional frames to 25p footage in order to smoothen the motion? It would require generating additional frames using motion blending or some king of morph.

Hmmm… You might want to try rendering to 50p so that Vegas will create in-between frames. Then render the 50p as 50i and Vegas should just use the new frames that it synthesized to create the interlaced version. It’s worth a try.
BTW, You probably need to practice shooting 25p. It’s not at all like 50i and you have to be very slow and deliberate in your camera moves. It takes practice so don’t expect to just switch a camera into 25p mode and get good results. You won’t (as you have seen).
