I have a short clip in Final Cut 5 ready for export via Compressor (to MPEG2) and into DVD Studio Pro for authoring.

The problem is, when I view my m2v file (in Quicktime) after it’s been through Compressor, there are serious interlace problems when there’s any movement in the picture.

As I understand it, some of the Quicktimes I have used in the Final Cut clip came from an already-made program, and thus have already been compressed once before they got to me. Could this be the reason my m2v looks awful?

Is there a way round it? (Oh, and I already tried the De-Interlace filter in Final Cut)… Thanks for any suggestions.

Compressed once- where and with what codec? Anything that didn’t start as NTSC video could be an issue- i.e. a clip compressed with Sorenson or Cinepack.
