Interlacing observed on the Canvas but not the viewer
hi everyone,
after reverse telecine, the interlaced frames are removed from the clip when viewed in cinema tools and in the viewer. However, when i put the clip onto the sequence (without rendering or needing to: the bar remains grey above the clip), interlaced frames are observed.
for the same timecode/frame, the viewer has no interlacing but the canvas has.
is this normal or is it indicative of some problem?
in the end i would make a cut list for the negative cutter and it’s vital that the key codes are accurate.

The canvas displays rougher video than the viewer, you need to see the work on an NTSC monitor.

if you have ‘all frames’ selected, the viewer window will show both fields if there is interlacing, otherwise it just shows one field. the canvas asfar as i know will always show one field.

when i export the sequence full quality and view it on quicktime, the interlacing remains. this is the interlacing observed from the canvas but absent at the very same frame on the viewer.
is it strange? is this indicative of a problem in the reverse telecine?
