    Hello,

I was just on the adobe forums because I have been having interlacing issues with my rendered AVCHD video files.

Someone told me that after a rendering process that you have to burn the file to a dvd and watch it on a real tv.

Now, I do not own a tv, I know that’s weird right, it’s just that I use my computers for everything, big external flat screen for watching movies and so on.

So my question is can you really not render a AVCHD file and watch the finished product on a computer without having interlacing issues?

I have a canon AVCHD camera and I can watch my file on the computer without any interlacing issues. I do have to encode the file to a format that will play outside or Premiere, but that is very simple to do. What camera are you using?

Anytime you have an interlaced video clip and play it on a progressive display, you’ll see the interlacing on scenes with moderate to heavy motion.

It has nothing to do with AVCHD itself, the same would be true for HDV, DVCProHD, or even uncompressed. If you are creating material to ultimately be viewed on a progressive display, the best strategy would be to shoot progressive, or at least to output progressive (no fields) from the timeline.

I can watch the files just fine on my computer before I they go through PP CS4.

    I’m using the canon HFS-100.

I do you work with your files in premiere? Your the first person I’ve talked to that is using a similar camera.

Watch your rendered avchd files op your pc with Power DVD ultra, it automatically deinterlaces your footage.
No need to make it into a BluRay disk or dvd first just change the extention from m4v to m2ts.
