Interlaced vs progressive scan.
Is there any reason not to use progressive scan exclusively> Scanning was done interlaced in the early days of TV because of the 60 cycle power frequency and processing off air material. The simplified explanation. So now what we are creating does not have to contend with on air material at all. So why not just program Vegas for progressive scan all the time? It sees to me we would avoid all the problems with interlaced programming. Maybe progressing scanning has problems I don’t know about.

Because the TV standard has not changed and it doesn’t matter if your material is for Broadcast, DVD, or media player, your TV set is still an interlaced device. (simple answer)

Does your video camera shoot interlaced footage? because if it does… you can’t ignore interlacing.
I’m not sure what the issue you are having with interlacing but Vegas handles this correctly right out-of-the-box. It’s only when people change settings that they don’t understand will Vegas do something strange.

I’m not having any problems. But if I had a choice I would choose progressive scan.
